Genotype Vs Phenotype

If I remember my high school education correctly, Genotype is what genes the animal has while Phenotype is what is 'shown' aka black fur.

Why do two dogs that are both 'sable' have different genotypes? Could we get so regulation on this?

I am currently only looking at the GSD's.

With GSDs they were likely entered in wrong a while ago. As time has gone on we’ve learned new things genetically here, so it was probably just missed :)

Ok that makes sense. Thanks Rotte.

Is there a cheat sheet about what colors are with their genotypes?
(I think this would be a good idea not just for GSD's)

There isn't - that's something we could look into, but for now your best bet is to do the genetic calculation via the Vet. board I think :)
When we have a bit of time I imagine a lot of the breeds will get renovations on their genotypes lol
